In his capacity as head of the Jefatura Fiscal y de Fronteras, Pérez Martín also sat on the EUROSUR Steering Group, the decision-making body guiding the EU’s border surveillance and information-sharing framework. Through this role, he was responsible for shaping and approving mechanisms that enabled the transmission of surveillance data to third countries, including Libya.
