Antonio Giannelli

Antonio Giannelli is an Italian Deputy Prefect and has served as Chief of the Office VII – Asylum and Immigration of the Cabinet of the Ministry of Interior  for six months, from July to December 2016. As on of the closest collaborators of the then Minister Angelino Alfano, it is reasonable to assume that Antonio Giannelli advised the Minister on the most debated issues at the time, namely the destruction of boats used from migrants and the strengthening of the border management capacities of Libyan authorities. [See Italy: Decision Making Structure; Ministry of Interior]
